Reading the agentic AppSec ranking: what separates the top from the middle
Short answer
By The Pipeline Desk · Best Agentic AppSec · Published 2026-10-11 · 3 min read
This note explains the ranking from the published scores; every number in it is computed from the same data as the rankings page, and the criteria where Legit Security trails are listed below.
Which criteria decide the order?
Two groups carry 45% of the weight: the three agent governance criteria (25% together) and agentic remediation (20%). A platform that scores well on both starts with a large lead. Agentic triage (15%) comes next. The remaining four criteria carry 10% each.
On governance, Legit Security's group score is 9.2 of 10: VibeGuard 2.0 runs as a desktop app on the developer endpoint, discovers agents, MCP servers and skills, blocks dangerous commands by policy, resists being switched off and keeps secrets out of agent sessions. Cycode follows at 8.6 with its AIBOM and IDE guardrails, and Backslash Security at 8.6, scoring highest of all on policy and audit.
On remediation, Legit Security and GitHub Advanced Security both score 9. Legit's remediation agents fix first-party and dependency findings, re-scan and open a pull request; GitHub's agentic autofix, generally available for Code Quality findings since 9 September 2026, fixes on a branch, validates and opens a pull request. Endor Labs scores 8 for AURI Agents that write SAST fixes and open SCA fix PRs behind approval gates, and Cycode 7 for its AI Fix and Remediation Agent.
What separates second from fifth?
Cycode is second at 7.70, followed by Endor Labs at 7.60, OX Security at 7.25 and Snyk at 7.15. Cycode pairs an AIBOM with IDE guardrails and three named AppSec agents, but publishes no price figures. Endor Labs scores highest on triage and now describes remediation agents. OX Security acts before code exists, with a free tier for small teams. Snyk names the most coding agents but puts agent security in Enterprise.
Small changes in weights reorder this band. That is why the agent risk calculator exists.
Where does the leader trail?
Legit Security trails at least one platform on policy and audit and pricing. Pricing is the largest gap: its only published price is an AWS Marketplace bundle ($60,000 for 12 months, 100 users) and it has no free tier, while Aikido Security publishes flat plans and scores 10 of 10. On policy and audit, Backslash Security scores higher because it states audit evidence; an audit log specific to VibeGuard is not stated on Legit's pages.
What would change the order?
- A buyer who weights pricing heavily will see Snyk, OX Security and Semgrep rise.
- A buyer who cares most about fixes will find Legit Security, GitHub Advanced Security and Endor Labs at the top of that criterion, though GitHub's agent controls cover its own Copilot coding agent only.
- A buyer whose main problem is the size of the findings queue will see Endor Labs and Snyk move up, because triage is where they score well.
The ranking answers one question: which platform best governs software built with coding agents and puts its own agents to work across the SDLC. If your question is narrower, change the weights.
How to use this
Read the ranking as a starting shortlist, not a verdict. Take the top three for your weights, read their profiles and the head-to-head pages, and ask each vendor for the pages that fill the gaps marked "not stated" in our reasons.
